Bandar Utama Birds @ blogspot.com. You might wonder what kind of birds thrive within the bustle of Bandar Utama with the myriad of the One Utama shopping complex, Menara KPMG,Seri Pentas TV3 and now One Avenue's MSC Tower.

I've been bird watching for the last fifteen years.(Also referred as "Birding" to the MNS fraternity) I initially started birding in 1995 and at times when I used to gaze through my binoculars or fieldscope; amazed by the beauty of those brilliant plumes of feathers, I felt that I should share such beauty of Allah's creations. That was why I started bird photography.

Having stayed in this auspicious township seeing it's growth, I took upon myself to observe if this continuing development has in anyway degraded the environment where I have lived for the past eighteen years. Much to my amazement, the developers of Bandar Utama who have carved this land from 1000 heactres of oil palm into the "Dragon's-Back" has created a marvellous landscape. Marvellous because notwithstanding the high density of housing, the curvature of land topography into steppes like the dragon's back has not only provided us with good "Feng Shui" but also encouraged the free flow of wind through the housing estate. This has nourished the growth of trees, palms and shrubs planted by the dwellers of Bandar Utama. Such colorful flora has not only attracted but also encouraged the breeding of fauna; notably our avian friends.
